Missing Messages

On the street old men attempt
to give me messages from God. I know
I don’t need those messages. But

beyond their pleather Bibles, other messages
may be whispering. One might be
“you’re checking too often for messages.”

Lost messages. When will I feel
I have enough messages? I send out
so many, too many. When will I get

the message to stop? Other people
may not be so interested in messages,
my messages. Or they may save them

too long. I want the messages to be
temporary and infinite. Each one lasting
a moment, but always more coming in.
