All is translation. A prolix version
of the language we dream in, think in,

gasp a lover’s name in. So what
of the morning we wake to discover

these words all wasted on trifling things,
the moment pressing but nothing saved

against just such an occasion? No.
I think this divided republic of my self

demands a solemn ass. I think
I will give it what it wants.
